uhm...

hey guys, so i figure i should probably actually tell you why i haven't been updating this summer.

as some of you know, i got a job at the beginning of the summer, and have been working about 30 hours a week every week since. as some of you also know, my life outside of work includes napping and eating. naturally, if something comic-worthy were to happen to me this summer, it would happen at work. and plenty of things have happened, believe me. good things! but i've been really torn about posting them because i'm terrified that someone from work will see them and be offended. i mean, i'm pretty sure that as long as i don't say where i'm working, i won't lose my job, but the people there are my friends and i don't want them to accidentally find this blog and take it the wrong way. and i'm staying on to work there over breaks and stuff too, so i need them to not hate me.

i've thought long and hard about it, and decided that i would actually post them, because an autobiographical comic is kinda shitty if it's censored, right? i mean, i'm sure that's an issue that every blogger has to contend with once in a while. not that i count as a blogger, but you know, i have a blog. so i'm going to go ahead and start drawing some stuff in the next few days, and you'll hopefully see an actual update pretty soon.

so funny story.

did i say i wouldn't update until summer break? i obviously meant i wouldn't update until summer break is over. but at this point you only have to wait about four more weeks, so er, sorry about that.

finals week yeahhh!

it also means that I might not update until summer break! i say might because i actually have an actual comic alllllmost done, but i got super pissed at it because of the circles. so many circles. you'll see. so anyway, i might finish that up this week, but maybe not because i have a to-do list that's like 8 miles long and i'm on the verge of tears right now.

at the risk of getting all weirdly emotional, this year went by so fast. i'm kind of glad it did, but also really sad, because i met so many amazing people who are graduating, and i don't know what to do with my life over the summer without the radio station. oh yeah, getting a job. i should do that.

i am simultaneously really scared and really excited when i think of next year. i can only hope i'll meet new friends cause most of mine are leaving, lawlzzz.

ugh. when i was making this i was like "i'll use a purple background. i never use purple." then i just realized that my last one was purple. i don't think it counts as "great minds think alike" if the other mind is your past self.

anyway, this actually happened at the beginning of this semester, but i put off doodling it because... i hate drawing people sitting at tables. i know, lame reason, but it's true. i have class with these people and i like them and we have lunch together.

overly punctual

so i walked back to my dorm and used the remaining time to start this doodle. everybody wins... except me, of course.

i was extra paranoid because i had a test in that class today. i was like "OH GAWD THEY SWITCHED ROOMS AND NOW I'M GONNA FAIL." but it worked out okay in the end.

as you may have noticed, the blog looks a little less cluttered now! a little. it's good enough.

yup. it was cold and wet, but i still had fun! i wish break had been two weeks instead of one. i'm back at school now. =(

spring break!

yup! spring break starts after tomorrow, and i will be going to nashville! i won't update at all over break, but i'm sure i'll have exciting stories to doodle when i get back! =) see you in a little over a week!

sweater!

just a quick doodle i did of my favorite outfit! it's this really chunky gray sweater that's just so comfy. throw on some leggings and boots and you're good to go!

i was trying out something new with this doodle. rest assured, the stick figure goodness will return once something interesting enough to doodle happens!

sorry i've been super infrequent with updates! it's midterm time again, and between studying for english twice, prepping for a history essay, and trying to do my italian midterm (it's analyzing poetry again. go figure) i've been totally stressed and swamped. okay, the main reason is that i'm totally addicted to pokemon white version. if you have black or white, you should totally ask for my friend code. we can be buddies!

luckily for me, spring break is a week from tomorrow! i am potentially going on vacation. potentially. fingers are crossed.

sunrise, sunset

the colors in this reminded me of my hair so i decided to try and draw what it looks like. it pretty much looks like this. there's even a visible line between the brown and the orangey part. (okay so that was me forgetting to blend better, but in real life the line is actually there so yay me!)

this is another one of those wallpaper doodles. yaaay! i keep meaning to draw a comic but then i forget what i wanted to draw. i remember now though. asians. you will see.

anyway, i've always loved valentine's day, even when i was single. what's not to love? pink is my favorite color and chocolate is delicious. that said, there is absolutely no shame in buying valentine's chocolate for yourself. or ordering a bouquet of flowers to your work to make it seem like you have a secret admirer. do what you have to do. i'll see you tomorrow when the candy is all 50% off!

the bookmark incident

i have such a backup of incidents that i need to draw! this is the earliest of them though. it happened over winter break. lulz.

i started this on like monday, but then i had 4 major writing assignments due this week so i totally didn't finish it till today =( i'll get another one up soon!

this is a wonderful picture of me drawn by the wonderful ryudo, who i mentioned in a previous post. i think he did my face pretty realistically there. i edited it slightly so it said my name because otherwise it would be a bit unclear. sorry, ryudo. lovely work.

ughhh i miss this blog so much! i miss doodling like you have no idea. i feel so lonely without my tablet. =( i'll have to figure something out because i'm not going home for another two weeks at least! tragicsauce!

hair dye

you might be wondering why this comic looks terrible. that is because remember when i said i left my tablet at school? turns out i had brought it home after all. and it's still there. while i'm at school. ughhhhh. so i drew this with my touchpad thing.

anyway, my hair! i wanted it to look like a gradual fade to blonde, with it being my natural color until about my chin. something about that meant "bleach everything but my roots" to my hairdresser. it looks kind of okay, but not at all what i had asked for. oh well.

i'm going to try and keep updating without my tablet! things are just gonna suck for a while. i'm sorry.

so for some reason, i figured i wouldn't have time to update my blog over winter break. or something. i don't know why i didn't take my tablet home with me, but that is why i haven't been updating. because if i doodle without my tablet, you get things like that picture up there.

but anyway, i go back to school next sunday! i'll be sure to do a winter break summary thingy or something, since i don't have class till tuesday so i'm sure i'll have some time. i'm really excited for the new semester! not excited to battle legions of college students in the bookstore trying to pick up my texts, but hey, it's part of the experience.

i'm getting my hair dyed tomorrow! of course it's going to be like impossible to draw, so i'll probably just keep drawing it as brown. or something. i hope it turns out okay!

anyway, shout out to my dad, who yelled at me for not updating for a month over dinner yesterday. this is why i haven't updated over break, dad!! it's an atrocity!!!
